Paul Schacht is a Senior Scientist/Senior Program Leader at Ecolab working at the Research and Development Center in Eagan, MN. Paul graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. degree in Chemistry. He has been employed at Ecolab for 18 years working in the product development group within Ecolab’s Food and Beverage Division. He and his team’s responsibilities include product development, market introduction, and technical support for new CIP cleaners, sanitizers, food surface treatments, and membrane cleaners and programs to solve customer problems for the dairy, food, and beverage markets. Paul has been awarded 13 U.S. patents with additional U.S. and foreign patent applications in-process.
Overview of Laboratory Test Methods for Clean-In-Place Programs and Troubleshooting Sanitation Issues for Process Membranes
This presentation will provide an overview of analytical and membrane test equipment as well as methods utilized for troubleshooting process membrane sanitation issues. We will also discuss processes for the development of membrane CIP (Clean-In-Place) products and programs. FTIR, ICP, and SEM are a few examples that will be discussed.
